Since signing to Lily Allen’s Bank Holiday Records, the Brighton-via-Los Angeles artist now known as Celeste has been re-releasing previously heralded and slightly reworked material that the more discerning listener may remember from three years ago when this coastal lover went by Celeste Waite. Her debut EP, featuring tracks ‘Daydreaming’, ‘Milk & Honey’ and ‘Chocolate’, was released earlier this year and the emerging songwriter isn’t likely to drop off our radar anytime soon thanks to this luscious music video. Like a hazy dream, Celeste floats through London’s more beautiful spots, reflecting her creative process when she wrote ‘Milk & Honey’ three years ago - “At the time I found myself drifting off from reality whenever I had a productive spell.” This reverie was bound up with Celeste’s memories of the past, such as storytime with her mother, and hopes for the future. It’s a lingering between-world soundtracked by astral R&B-pop and Celeste’s velveteen vocal. - HT
